IMAX The Dark Knight question?

Hey, so I was reading that Chris Nolan only shot like, 8 scenes in IMAX or something like that. I was curious, since I'm going to a screening of IMAX soon, what happens to the scenes that weren't filmed in IMAX? Do we just view them at a normal movie screen size, or are they the same size as the IMAX screen, just not as high of a quality?
