I think you should definetly geld him :) He sounds sweet, but all stallions should be well behaved. Plus, he might get more stallion-like as he gets older. Also, if he rides, drives etc. you will probably be able to have more fun with him as a gelding and do more stuff with him. If you want a foal, you can always buy one (probably about the same price since there is the cost of vet bills and extra feed etc for the mare) or rescue one that needs a home.
