HELP ME!!!!! please?!!?

so how does a boy leave a hickey on a neck? my bf was goin crazy on it last night like he uses his teeth and he always leaves some bite marks but they go away by the morning..but not this time theres 3 huge red marks and my neck hurts when i touch it and move it..is this a hickey?
